#20 Fluids in 3rd space : Dr Chetan K Ganteppanavar's routine encounter

#18 The Rash That Crawled: Dr Chetan K. Ganteppanavar's Encounter with a Rare Diagnosis

A 23-year-old college student presented with an itchy rash over his left leg, persisting for nearly one month. The rash showed no signs of healing and was slowly increasing in size. He described a strange sensation — as if something was crawling under the skin every day. The itching was worse at night. Despite taking multiple courses of oral antibiotics and using antibiotic and antifungal creams, there was no improvement. On further history, he had recently gone for a forest trek near Belagavi, Karnataka, and recalled a possible insect bite at the same site about 45 days earlier, which had initially bled.

On examination, the rash appeared unusual — snake-like, reddish, and mild watery discharge.

It was a classical — and now rarely seen — case of Cutaneous Larva Migrans (CLM).

#08 Young Hypertensives , Rising numbers in India : a non communicable neo-epidemic

In today's fast-paced world, unhealthy lifestyles have become the norm. Lack of exercise, frequent dining at hotels and restaurants, stressful jobs, and disrupted sleep patterns contribute significantly to lifestyle-related diseases. Among these, hypertension or high blood pressure (BP) is emerging as a major concern, even among individuals as young as 18 to 20 years. Decades ago, doctors rarely checked BP in young adults, but today, no age group can be ignored. I, Dr. Chetan K Ganteppanavar, Consultant Physician in Hubli, share my clinical experiences with young hypertensive patients, emphasizing the need for early detection and management.
